Fresh produce, local art and music return as Sooke Night Market begins

The Sooke Night Market kicks off June 5

The wait is over, and the Sooke Night Market is finally here.

The market will open its doors for the first time this season on Thursday at 5 p.m.

"It's almost the end of the week, you're tired and don't want to make supper. Visit the Sooke Night Market for food, live music, and creations by local artisans in a relaxed atmosphere," said the Sooke Region Museum in their newsletter.

The first market is set to feature a plethora of fresh produce from community highlights Wildside Farm and Woodside Farm.

"As members of the BC Farmers' Market Association and part of the BC Farmers' Market Trail, we're proud to present this opportunity for local growers and makers to connect with the community," said the museum.

With limited parking due to ongoing construction on Sooke Road, the museum is encouraging market visitors to come by foot or by bike if they can and leave the limited parking for those who need the spots.

The District of Sooke has arranged for public parking at Journey Middle School, a brief stroll from the Sooke Region Museum.
