Thanks to the Hao family, there will be a Potato Free-For-All event at their garden on Cabbage Road in Canim Lake Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Folks are asked to bring their own shovels, boxes and bags and harvest as many potatoes and carrots as they want to take home for free. It’s a great opportunity to stock up for winter.
Everybody is welcome to take home some potatoes and carrots and they are urged to tell their friends.
To get to the farm, take Canim-Hendrix Lake Road to Forest Grove, then turn right at the stop sign to drive towards Canim Lake.
From there, it is about 14 kilometres to Cabbage Road. Turn right across from Forest Grove Fire Hall #2 to join the gleaning event.
