The Downtown Community Market is back in town.

Handcrafted goods, arts, artisan foods, live music, and entertainment returns along 200 Main St., Front Street, and Backstreet Boulevard on Saturday, May 18, from  8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The market will commence every Saturday until Sept. 6.

With the Penticton Farmers' Market already in full swing in the 100 block of Main Street, people are asked to watch for extra foot and bike traffic across the city's downtown core this weekend.

City officials are also reminding drivers to anticipate road closures each Saturday between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m., due to the events.

"Watch for detour signs and anticipate extra parking congestion," a press release reads.

The Downtown Community Market features around 80 vendors and welcomes thousands of visitors each week.

For this week's market, the Penticton & District Garden Club is hosting a fundraising plant sale at the intersection of Main Street and Westminster Avenue. Raised funds will go toward local scholarship programs.

As the market returns, a bike valet service is also opening at Gyro Park from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Operated by the city's Environmental Outreach Ambassadors, more than 1,870 people used the valet service in 2024. It is free to use.
