Bottle drive for less privileged underway

Donations of beverage bottles and cans sought by CMHA-SC

The activity/clubhouse program at Canadian Mental Health Association-South Cariboo (CMHA-SC) is having a bottle drive until Nov. 30.

The proceeds of this bottle drive will provide Christmas gifts for the less privileged children in our community, says Kathy Provost, CMHA-SC activity worker.

This is being accomplished by our group buying gifts for the Loaves & Fishes Outreach’s Christmas Shoebox Program.

Last year, we were able to raise $650 to buy gifts and we are hoping to beat that goal this year with the help of our local community.”

Refundable bottles and cans can be dropped off at the CMHA-SC office Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or after hours, they left on the patio at the side of the building.

For large donations that require pick up, folks can contact Kathy at 250-395-4883.

We thank everyone for their generous donations and the group appreciates being able to give back to the community and show their appreciation as well.”
