Habitat and the HarbourCats are ready to hammer in more homers together for a second summer, renewing a partnership aimed at community engagement and philanthropy.

Baseball fans will spot Habitat for Humanity Victoria volunteers at all Victoria HarbourCats home games at Royal Athletic Park this season.

“Off the bat, we are thrilled to partner with the Harbour Cats again,” Habitat interim CEO Krista Bekkema said in a news release. “They help focus the enthusiasm and community spirit evident at every game on our charitable mission, to keep hopes high and homeownership affordable for local families hard hit by the housing crisis.”

Known for community engagement and philanthropy through its foundation, the baseball club is just as excited to have the housing non-profit back on the roster.

“The work Habitat Victoria does in our community is so important, now more than ever,” Cats managing partner Jim Swanson said. “We share their commitment to making Victoria a better place to live.”

Underhill Geomatics also returns as the Homers for Habitat sponsor – donating $100 to Habitat Victoria’s build fund every time a HarbourCats player hits a home run during a home game.

Habitat Victoria is also looking for enthusiastic volunteers to serve as ushers during home games. No experience is necessary. Sign up at l.ead.me/vomehfhvhcbc. For more information visit www.habitatvictoria.com and www.harbourcats.com.
